Carly Vickers, Digital Marketing Coordinator

Q. Tell us a little about yourself and Zgraph.
I am a Digital Marketing Coordinator at Zgraph. Our team helps businesses large and small take advantage of digital marketing opportunities. We build websites and provide services like search engine, social media and email marketing. Zgraph was founded in the Daytona Beach area and is celebrating their 20 year anniversary this coming year!

Q. What do you do for inspiration?

When I need inspiration I put on my favorite songs, draw, take a walk, or watch a TED talk.

Q. What is your all-time most memorable moment at Zgraph?

The day I was hired there, I knew I was where I was supposed to be and that I was about to gain more knowledge than I expected. Working with my coworkers and meeting all of our clients in a wide array of industries has taught me more than any class I have ever had. My favorite part about Zgraph is that they are always embracing new ideas and not afraid of change and evolving with the times, which is what makes them so successful and I am honored that I get to be a part of it.

Q. What does the next 10 years of advertising look like to you?

I believe the same basic principles always apply to advertising, but the technology of how they’re implemented is changing. Also, the overall mix of advertising channels is definitely moving in the digital and on-demand direction. A business’s online presence has become the new word of mouth and acts like a 24/7 salesperson… its importance is only going to continue to grow.

Q. What’s your favorite thing about working in the Daytona Beach area? What do you think Daytona Beach has to offer that other cities don’t?

I love working in Daytona Beach because this is my hometown. The weather is an obvious plus, but I also love how the city is continuing to grow and it still feels like a small town where you constantly run into all of your friends and neighbors.

Q. If you weren’t working in advertising, what would you be doing?

I would be working in the Art Therapy field to utilize my passion for art and volunteering. Art is very powerful and can be therapeutic for individuals going through challenging times.

Q. What advice do you have for students/people just starting out in advertising?

You will learn more from a job than any class you take in school.

Q. Where can people connect with you or learn more about Zgraph?

They can visit our website www.zgraph.com or give us a call and we would be happy to talk with them.

Q. If there are any pivotal experiences/decisions you could point to that helped shape your career, what would they be?

One pivotal experience for me was having my teacher Mr. Bryson at Spruce Creek High School. He helped introduce me to artists and professionals who were using their love of art in the advertising and marketing world in innovative and exciting ways. He helped open up my mind to all of the endless possibilities and showed me that a little creativity and hard work can go a long way.

Q. What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?

My friends and family. They are always there for me and support me in everything I do.

Q. Before you go, is there one last piece of wisdom you can drop on us?

Never stop dreaming. The world is constantly evolving and you could be one of the individuals to help set that change in motion.
